Did you know that if you travel with a group that is large enough, you can get discounted rates on your air fare? It’s true; there are websites that specialize in getting discounted plane tickets for groups. Alternatively, you can work with a travel agent to get the same kind of discounted rate.
Group rates are available for varying size groups and different types of specialty groups. Non-profit groups, church groups and school groups are the most obvious groups which will find it easy to get group airfare. However, other large groups such as wedding parties, sports teams and families heading to a group reunion are also common candidates for group airfare discounts. And even if you don’t have a specialty group, you might be able to get a group discount if you have more than ten or fifteen people traveling with you.
Do some browsing online first to see what kinds of group rates you can get. If there isn’t anything available, consider checking out your options with the help of a travel agent. Of course, you should be careful when working with any new travel agent or online fare nattering; you want to make sure that you can browse without getting locked into any deals. Be cautious by not give your credit card information to anyone (travel agent or a form on any site) until you are ready to buy a particular group fare.
