There are too many scenic parts of Australia to count, but one beautiful strip of coast west of Melbourne is known as the Great Ocean Road.
It’s a route that follows the coastline through towns like Apollo Bay and Port Campbell. Along the way you’ll see a dramatic coastline. The most famous sight along here is the Twelve Apostles, a collection of natural limestone stacks sticking out of the ocean. (although there are only nine of them!.
Recently, the state of Victoria developed the Great Ocean Walk, a walking track which follows a similar route. There are numerous possibilities for undertaking the walk with a group, from a simple day trip to a multi-day hike along sections of the track, which runs for 91 kilometers, about 57 miles.
A number of tour operators can cater for your group by dropping you all off at a starting point at the beginning of the day, and then continuing with your luggage to pick you up at an arranged point at the end of the day. Or your group may like to camp overnight at one of the group camping sites - there are three campsites with dedicated group areas. Just remember that all campers must register to prevent overcrowding.
