European Group Travel Destination: Greece
Many people who enjoy group travel to Europe go on a tour that covers many countries within the area. This can be a great experience; after all, each spot in Europe is so different that you really get a range if you visit them all. But what you don’t get when you travel this way is the in-depth experience of spending a significant amount of time in one location. For a chance to really experience another culture, it is sometimes best to pick a single group travel destination in Europe. And one of the best ones to put on your list is Greece.
Why Greece? Well, first of all, it is a country that is steeped in history. You could spend months in the area and not see all of the historical landmarks that there are to say in this fascinating country. But more than that, Greece is a country that has a culture which is distinct and which lives on in the people there today. Immersing yourself in this culture - sharing the food of the people who live there, hearing the language and seeing both the major landmarks and some of the hidden spots will let you in on this culture.
But why not just travel to Greece on your own; why go with a group? Group travel to Greece is particularly good because the country can be confusing to those who haven’t traveled there before. The roads were designed years ago, the culture is different from that of much of the rest of Europe and it is often best navigated with a group and a guide. Additionally, a group tour to Greece will probably take you to some of the “insider” locations that you might not discover on your own if you’re trying to work off of a guide book itinerary. So, get your guts ready for the spanikopita and go for the gold.
