Louvre

The Louvre, probably the world’s most famous museum, is home to 35,000 artworks from all over the world and from every era in history. But if you’re going with a group, you’ll need to plan in advance. Following are some points to consider.

  • Any group visit to the Louvre must be booked in advance. A group is considered to be seven or more people, with a maximum of 25 people per group–20 for the Department of Decorative Arts and some temporary exhibits.
  • You can book an official tour with an English-speaking guide, which will last about 90 minutes. For a guided tour, you must book from between two and four months in advance - check the website for details.
  • Finally, there is also a special entrance for groups, so you won’t have to wait in a long queue.
  • Five cafes, a restaurant and a cafeteria are housed within the Louvre so you can find plenty of refreshments during your visit.
