Disneyland, the original theme park in Anaheim, California, is always festive and entertaining, but during October, the park dresses itself up in Halloween and Fall finery, to spectacular effect. There are pumpkins galore, costumes, special events, and Halloween surprises and treats.Disneyland Decorates for Halloween
You’ll know it’s Halloween season the minute you arrive in Disneyland during October. The Main Street Train Station, at the entrance to the park, is adorned with pumpkins and garland, and the floral display is arrayed with dozens of miniature white and orange pumpkins in the shape of a giant Mickey. Inside the park, there are pumpkins in the Main Street windows, a giant 16′ Mickey Jack O’ Lantern in the Town Square, and the Haunted Mansion is adorned a la Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.

Costumes
Guests, especially the little ones, are encouraged to wear their favorite costume to the park. Even the Disney characters get into the act, with special Halloween apparel. You might just see Mickey in a Vampire’s cape or with Devil ears.
