San Francisco getaway with the girls

San Francisco is a great place for a weekend with the girls. Here are a few tips for enjoying a girls’ getaway in San Francisco:
• Spend the first day seeing the major sights. Have a pre-trip meeting to decide which sights you most want to see. Then take a look at a map and plan the order in which you’ll see them. If you’re active and energetic, you can see several major spots in a day, freeing up the rest of your weekend for less touristy activities.
• Consider splitting up for shopping. There’s such a wide variety of shops. Boutique fans will want to head to Hayes Valley, Union Street and Grant Street. Designer shopping can be done around Union Square. Thrift stores are found in The Haight. More eclectic items can be found in The Mission.
• How about a spa day? There are day spas andmani/pedi places in every San Francisco neighborhood. Stop in!
• Don’t be afraid of the public transit system. People from all walks of life use the buses and underground BART system in San Francisco. It’s easy to learn and considered safe. Keep aware of your surroundings, of course. And you can always easily hail a cab if you want to get off the streets.
• Go clubbing. There are different clubs all throughout San Francisco. Unlike cities such as Las Vegas, most clubs here don’t offer discounts to women or “ladies nights.” However, many clubs offer free or discounted admission if you get on the VIP list, which just requires going to the website and signing up in advance. San Francisco was recently voted the best city for singles, so if you gals are looking to find some guys, you shouldn’t have any trouble. If you just want to dance without being bothered, head up to the Castro where the gay clubs welcome the girls and give you a reprieve from being man-handled.
