San Francisco is an impressive city with so much to do that you can be overwhelmed if you’re trying to figure out what to do with your group. For that reason, it’s a great city for taking organized group tours. These tours give you a chance to see all that San Francisco offers without having to do excessive planning about how you’re going to see it all.
Here are some of the group tours that you might want to check out for a trip to San Francisco:
• 5 Hour Shuttle Tour – Groups that want to try to hit all major tourist destinations in one day should take this tour.
• Bike the Golden Gate Bridge. This one isn’t actually a guided tour but it’s a standard planned route. You rent bikes at Fisherman’s Wharf from any of the available stands and then the group can bike across the bridge together.
• Ghost tours. There are two different ghost tours (as well as a vampire tour) in San Francisco. These show you haunted spots in the city but they also give you lots of information about the history of the area. They run regularly and offer group discounts.
• SF Heritage Walking Tours – A variety of guided walking tours are available to learn the history of the area.
• Stroll San Francisco - These are audio guided tours that you can download on to your mp3 player. Great for groups that need to stick to their own schedule.
• Victorian Home Walk – Travelers who love the Victorian architecture that the homes of San Francisco are known for will like what they see on this walking tour.
San Francisco is one of the few cities where it really is better to take advantage of the available group tours than to try to make plans with your group yourself. The tour guide can provide you with historical information, restaurant recommendations and insider tips about how to best see San Francisco. And if your group is big enough, you can probably get a discount on everything!
