The San Francisco Zoo is a terrific place to take a group. Any zoo is a great group outing because it’s fun for all ages and generally comes along with a built-in group discount. But the San Francisco Zoo is particularly great because of the variety of animals it has, the different interactive activities that happen there and the fact that the weather in the area is frequently good enough to enjoy the outdoors. Plus, the San Francisco Zoo is located right next to the ocean so there’s a free place to enjoy picnicking and other outdoor fun with your group either before or after the trip.

There are over 250 different animals at the
San Francisco zoo. Grizzly Gulch celebrates the state animal of
California. The Bald Eagle is also present at the San Francisco Zoo, honoring the entire country. And there are animals from all parts of the globe that you can see to experience the diversity that makes up our planet.
The San Francisco Zoo regularly hosts different events so your group can plan to attend on a day when there’s something going on of interest to you. They keep a calendar on their website to let you know what’s going on. Such special events might include holiday-themed events and parades, age-specific events (for groups with kids of the same age or for seniors groups, for example) and cultural events.

If your group happens to be a non-profit group or a group associated with certain schools, you might be able to get in free. If not, you can get a discounted rate at the San Francisco Zoo by coming with a group of 10 or more people. The basic discounted rate is $10 per adult, $7 for seniors and teenagers and $4 for young children. However, you should know that the first Wednesday of the month is a free admission day for everyone. Many groups go at this time so you can expect for it to be crowded but it’ll be free and fun!
