If you’re looking to add some twists and turns to your typical Saturday afternoon, talk your friends into signing up for an off-road driving course at a Land Rover Experience Driving School.

There are three schools held in North America: at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, at Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello in Quebec, and at the Quail Lodge in Carmel, CA. A group event requires a minimum of 6 participants and a certified Land Rover Instructor leads the group. Each guest is required to have a current driver’s license.

A basic group lesson is two hours long and costs $110 per person. You’ll learn the basics of expedition-style driving, including hairpin turns and log and creek crossings. Other course offerings focus on team-building and test you on how well you work together during staged rescue or emergency missions. A scavenger hunt is another option where you are given a  compass and a GPS in order to locate hidden items.

The off-road driving course is a perfect corporate team building exercise. When the group completes its course, each participant receives an official certificate of completion. One last thing, you aren’t required to own a Land Rover, but if you do, you’ll receive a 10 percent discount.

To make reservations for your group or to get a more detailed view of the course offerings and prices, visit the school’s website.
