Austin, Texas is an incredibly diverse city in the heart of Texas, catering to the likes of almost everyone that steps foot within it borders. If you’re planning a group trip to this unique Texan city, be forewarned: the only problem you’re likely to encounter is finding enough time to squeeze into your schedule all the activities that your group has planned.

The scientists and/or kids in your group will demand some times at the Austin Nature and Science Center. A combination of science museum, park, and zoo, the Austin Nature and Science center packs porcupines, snakes, and coyotes in under the same roof as an eco-detective trail and an amazing Dino Pit exhibit where kids can go on an archaeological dig for fossils.

Nature lovers always flock to Barton Springs Pool, a large natural swimming hole fed by area springs. Surrounded by lovely greenery, including pecan trees and flowering gardens, the pool is a year-round attraction, maintaining a comfortably cool temperature of approximately 68° throughout the year.

Music enthusiasts will enjoy a schedule stop at Austin City Limits, the site of the city’s famous long-running and much-loved public television show. Though the show used to feature mostly country music, it now invites artists of many diverse genres, sure to please even the most finicky listeners.

History buffs will make their pilgrimage to the statuesque Texas State Capitol, a red-granite building built in Renaissance Revival style. As the country’s largest state capitol building, it is visible from many other locations in the city, though none of these vistas is as spectacular as seeing the monument in person.

Clearly, Austin is a city built for the enjoyment of the many, so bringing a group here, no matter how different your travel companions may be from one another, is a sure way to please a crowd.
