Fall is a terrific season to travel with a group. You can enjoy holiday activities associated with Halloween and Thanksgiving. Alternatively, if you’re able to travel during the non-holiday autumn weeks, you can take advantage of discounted rates on air fare, accommodations and attractions. You can head specifically to places where the beautiful fall foliage is waiting to impress you or you can hang on to summer by hitting up a beach destination where the weather is still warm.
Here are just a few great fall group travel ideas that you might want to consider:
•Appalachian Mountains. The Appalachian Mountains are absolutely beautiful during the autumn months when the leaves are changing color. In the southern part of the mountain range, the weather is still beautiful enough to enjoy camping and picnicking. Take a camera to capture the fall foliage.
•Family reunion. It’s hard to get everyone together for the holidays. Families have to decide which in-laws to see, everyone’s got some idea about where the holiday dinners should be held … avoid the stress of the holidays by having your big family reunion earlier in the fall. People have more time to plan, the kids will be happy to miss a few days of school and everyone can have a more relaxed holiday when the time rolls around.

•Go harvesting. Leading up to Halloween, there are plenty of places where you and your group can go to do some pumpkin-picking. It’s also possible to do other fruit and vegetable picking at farms all throughout the country. This is a great experience for all ages so consider doing this with a church group or school group.
•Corn maze exploration. Another great all-ages fall trip is to a corn maze. These human-sized labyrinths are also located all throughout the country and give a real fall feel to your vacation.
•It’s Still Summer Somewhere. If it’s starting to get a little nippy in your hometown, plan a group vacation to a beach where you can hang on to summer a little bit longer. A trip to Hawaii has never looked better.
•The Southwest. Southern Arizona, New Mexico and the other southwest states are warm and beautiful during the fall months. Group golf vacations are particularly popular here during this time of year.
•Weekend in Vegas. Get a group of your single friends together and head to Vegas for the weekend. There’s no bad time of year to go there and the deals during some autumn months are terrific.
